Why We Celebrate This Day

In 2004, the U.S. Senate officially designated December 13th as National Day of the Horse, encouraging Americans to recognize the contributions horses have made throughout history. From transportation and agriculture to sport, therapy, and companionship, horses have supported people in ways that go far beyond riding.

For riders, this day is more than a historical acknowledgment; it’s a reminder of the trust, responsibility, and emotional connection that comes with working alongside such intelligent, sensitive animals.
