Lizzy Traband’s journey in the equestrian world is a powerful story of determination, passion, and creative horsemanship. Raised on her family’s Carousel Farm in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, Lizzy developed a distinctive approach to training horses. By age seven, she was already captivating national audiences with bridleless jumping, liberty work, and trick routines. Her early accomplishments quLickly led her to teach at major expos across the U.S. and Canada and create the well-known Taiji Horsemanship Training Series.
A major turning point in Lizzy’s career came during her performance at the 2010 World Equestrian Games, where she discovered her love for show jumping. This pivotal experience earned her the first-ever USHJA Living the Dream grant, allowing her to train in Wellington, Florida. There, she established herself as a respected competitor in the Florida circuit and was named the 2016 USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year.
While pursuing an intense competition schedule, Lizzy also dedicated herself to academics. She graduated with honors from Penn State University with a degree in Finance, while also serving as captain of the university’s equestrian team. Under her leadership, the team qualified for nationals three years in a row. Lizzy’s outstanding achievements earned her several honors, including “Penn State Female Athlete of the Year.”
Today, Lizzy is based in Ocala, Florida, where she focuses on training and presenting top-tier show jumpers. She frequently competes at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), which she regards as a standout facility in the industry. “I think the Roberts family has raised the bar in our sport,” Lizzy shared. “I feel so blessed to have a facility like this in our industry.”
